Jesusita M. Altenbach, Executive Board Member: I joined LLNL in January 1981after completing my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Northern Arizona University. My experience has been solely in the administrative field supporting various levels of senior managers. I have had an interest in joining SPSE, and finally realized this goal until the summer of 2006. That was when my identity was stolen from an NNSA database, and NNSA did not have a plan to mitigate the damage. I strongly believe that if we unite and stand up to address our needs that all employees will benefit, which was well demonstrated in the meeting addressing the cyber attack/identity theft. This resulted in NNSA affording a two-year credit and identity protection for all LLNL victims. With the contract change and the uncertainty in becoming an employee for a profit entity, my purpose for joining SPSE is to protect the rights and benefits of the employees. This can only be done by working together as a unit. I am committed to working hard and putting forth every effort in pushing the “Elephant Up Lombard Street.”
