Univesity of Pension Fund Changes

An article in theFrancisco Examiner on Sunday, July 16, 2000 raised concerns about chages to the management of UC pension fund.

• Because of it's concern, SPSE sent a letter to UC President Atkinson, on July 18, 2000, asking questions about what took place.
  
• Judith L. Hopkinson, Chair, Regents' Committee on Investments, replied on August 11, 2000 (PDF).
  
• Ms. Hopkinson failed to address our concerns regarding the need for secrecy during the decision making process. Because of this, SPSE sent letters, on September 14, 2000, to California State Senator Tom Hayden, and to California State Assemblywoman Elaine Alquist. We ask that their respective Higher Education committees investigate.
