SINGLETON V. REGENTS TOWN MEETING
DISCRIMINATION QUESTIONNAIRE AVAILABLE
The 2/7/01 Town Meeting to report out on the Singleton v. Regents court ruling was well attended with about 80 in the audience. The attorneys explained the good news that all 100 to 500 series women employed at LLNL since October 1, 1988, are a part of the class action lawsuit challenging discrimination in pay, promotion and ranking. They hope to get a trial date in a couple months and the trial date would be for a year from now. And, if there are any delays, appeals, etc., this is going to be a long haul.
The lawyers pointed out that over the next year, they want to collect "stories" from women. They handed out a questionnaire (looks like the recent EEOC questionnaire) which is long and prompts for specifics. It was suggested that women fill them out by March 1 and to take your time with it.
The questionnaire, in PDF format is available below. If you know other women who might be interested in participating, pass on the word.
